Best Registry Cleaner – What Is Experimentally the Best Registry Cleaner?
By sheruz | October 26, 2009
Registry cleaning is a hectic process even for nerds and geeks. It takes a lot of knowledge, effort and time to be able to accurately repair the windows registry. Even worse, it’s a risky process, if you do things without knowing exactly what you are doing, you can damage the operating system beyond repair. That’s why Registry cleaner is such a time, effort and life saver
But there are so many registry cleaners in the market that choosing a good one is just as hectic. Which one do you choose? And what do you base your selection on?
I have used almost all the registry cleaner out there in the market, and if you want a short answer for “What is the best registry cleaner”, the answer is Registry Booster. I will explain in detail why I think this is the best one, but if you are a straight-to-the-point person, then there you have it. Go for Registry Booster.
First let me tell you what I based my judgment on. What criteria did I use and why did I use these?
What must you look for before getting a registry cleaner?
One of the most important criteria that have to be taken into consideration before investing in a registry cleaner is the cost. Another criterion is safety. Some registry cleaners detect faulty registry entries erroneously. This can happen when some registry entries are used by more than one application. If they remove those entries some applications might stop working. In fact, choosing the wrong registry cleaner might lead a complete operating system crash. Therefore, it is very important to choose a registry cleaner that has an option to create a backup before taking a repair action. The third criterion is the ease of use and automation. Some registry cleaners can effectively detect a lot of errors, but when it comes to fixing those errors, they require a lot of user input. Some of them are not friendly to non-technical people and can only be used by computer experts. Since it is not practical to ask for the service of a computer expert every time registry cleaner is run, a completely automated registry cleaning utility is preferred. So, in summary the three main criteria are:
• Cost
• Safety
• Ease of use
Some optional features that are preferable but not necessary are:
• Auto update: When the software is updated, is the new version automatically downloaded and installed?
• Technical Support: If there are some glitches in the installation or if any other help or support is required, is it available from the vendor?
I could go on now and review every registry cleaner available and point out where each one fails to satisfy the criteria above, but I guess it is going to be boring both for me as well as you. So, instead, I am going to review Registry Booster and show you how it satisfies all the above criteria and it is the best registry cleaner and repair software.
Registry Booster user experience, testing and review

Most PC users, with the exception of optimization junkies and advanced testers, never dare to mess around with their Windows Registry. In fact, most users are clueless when it comes to knowing what exactly the windows registry does, and surprisingly, some are unaware that the Windows Registry even exists. In actual fact, computer users are never required to access or make changes to the Windows Registry manually, however whenever one alters their computer settings, updates the drivers, or install, delete or make changes an application, they are at the same time making changes in the registry. This week I will be reviewing a popular registry optimizing utility Registry Booster, a dynamic registry scanning, defragmenting, and repairing utility. In the following review, I will detail the features and abilities of this program, test and determine whether or not the Registry Booster improves system performance and stability, and express my personal thoughts toward Uniblue’s Registry Booster.
Registry Booster Features

Does Uniblue’s Registry Booster Work?
Determined to evaluate the effectiveness of Uniblue’s Registry Booster, I decided to benchmark my test computer both before and after running the Registry Booster’s scanning and defragging utilities. This is how the system looked like before optimizing. As you can see, The Windows Task Manager shows that the PC is using 343 Megabytes of memory, running 49 processes and it boots up to a usable desktop in 55 seconds.

The first thing to do is download and installing RegistryBooster 2009. It offers a Free Scan so you can try it to see if your registry is corrupt. If it isn’t corrupt, there is no need to buy the utility but if there are problems with your registry you will need to purchase RegistryBooster to fix any problems the program may find.
Uniblue uses the Microsoft.NET framework to install thier software so if you do not have the latest version, you will be prompted to install the framework. It is Okay – It’s a Microsoft product.
The new RegistryBooster 2009 program requires the .NET framework 3.5 SP1 to work properly. If the .NET installation is failing, please download it and install manually from the following link : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=en
Installation
Thanks to a wonderfully designed installer, the installation of Uniblue’s Registry Booster was fairly simple and effortless. So simple, in fact, that even the most novice computer user would find Uniblue’s Registry Booster easy to install compared to most other software. Additionally, as the Registry Booster is less than 10MB is size, the installation was extremely fast. Users are permitted to choose where they would like to install the Registry Booster, and whether or not they would like to have desktop and quick launch icons created. Here is a screenshot of the new InstallAware Wizard that Uniblue uses for installation of their products.

The installation was a snap and when it was finished Registry Booster 2009 automatically started a scan of the registry.
Configuration
When I started the program up for the very first time, it automatically scanned my registry, which caught me a little bit off guard. The only catch to this is that you can’t repair the errors or infections until you register the product. The software has four major tabs and the first is “Overview”. Under this tab you can find useful information such as when you last cleaned the registry, how many times you’ve defragged the registry, what your registry’s health status is and the option to start scanning the registry. The next tab is “Registry Scan”, which is where you can select which parts of the registry you want cleaned. I was extremely happy to see a “System Drivers” option, so that clearing the drivers for video cards will be much easier. You can also start the registry scan from this tab too. Notice the tabs on the left as well. You’ll see where you can find scan results and the tab to perform registry defragging. Registry defragging consolidates the registry. Definitely don’t forget to defrag the registry when you clean the registry. The next tab is “Restore” which is very helpful. Everytime the software cleans the registry, it prompts you to either make a full or partial registry backup, in case things don’t go so well. If something does go wrong, you can come to this tab and select the last backup you had and click “Restore” and you’ll be back to that registry. The last tab is called “Settings”, which is where you can customize when Registry Booster 2 runs and if it scans automatically, etc. You can also find the “Ignore List” where you can tell the program to skip any of registry files you specify. The last section to the “Settings” tab is “Log Details”, which is where a log is kept of everything you’ve done in the program itself.
Scanning, Defragmenting, Repairing, and Backing-Up my Windows Registry
Scanning: Uniblue’s Registry Booster comes packaged with a highly sophisticated scanning engine that peruses one’s registry in both a thorough and quick manner. I was surprised at how quickly the utility scanned my entire registry, and shocked to see that it had reported a total of 150 registry errors. While most of the errors were linked to missing paths and unneeded entries caused from adding and removing applications, I was completely unaware that my registry contained a total of 150 errors. Here are the results of the scan. RegistryBooster found 150 registry errors or problems with the registry on this computer. Seeing how Uniblue is a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, I trusted it to do a complete cleanup of the registry so I smacked the Clean Registry button.

Backing Up: After clicking the Clean Registry button, the following screen popped up telling me that as a safety precaution, a complete backup of the registry should be performed. I thought that was a good idea so I clicked Yes to take a full as well as a partial backup of the registry.

Repairing: Uniblue’s Registry Booster repairs the errors it finds, and does so in a timely manner. Furthermore, when an error is repaired, it is repaired for good and doesn’t reappear on subsequent registry scans. When the registry repair was finished, it told me so. I clicked OK.

Then I was shown the Registry Cleanup Results. Registry Booster 2009 found 150 registry errors and cleaned 150 registry errors. The program recommended that I restart the computer so I quickly saved this web page and smacked the Restart Now button.

Defragmenting: Until this review, I was completely unaware that my registry could even become “fragmented”. However, when I sat down to think about it, it actually made a lot of sense; hard drives become fragmented even after relatively moderate usage, and since we constantly are making changes to the registry, it can develop fragments over time as well. The defragmenting process was also very quick, and according to Uniblue, defragging one’s registry will improve boot times (read on for more). After running the defragmenting utility, the Registry Booster will prompt you to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

This is how the windows task manager looks like after using the Registry Booster software:

Was there a difference? Hell Ya
Final Impressions and Conclusion
Overall, I was very impressed with Uniblue’s Registry Booster. The software’s appearance, design, and performance enhancing capabilities exceeded my expectations. The scanning, repairing, and defragmenting utilities did exactly what they were supposed to and there was a definite boost in system performance. For a mere $30 download of their software, or $40 if you wish to buy the disk and packaging, I recommend Uniblue’s Registry Booster to all computer users. From what I’ve seen of the software so far, I can imagine that the Registry Booster will help stabilize and improve system performance on even the most erratically-behaving machines. I give Uniblue’s Registry Booster a 10/10. Start a Free Scan immediately

How do you reorganize and tidy up your registry manually?
You can clean up and repair the computer registry manually by navigating to the windows registry, recognizing which file is corrupted or missing, and then removing those entries. Unfortunately, this task requires you to be a computer expert. So you have two options:
Option 1:
Hire a computer expert to find out why the computer is so slow, and ask him to repair it.
Option 2:
Use a Windows Registry Cleaner to detect, clean and repair your computer registry.
I would go with the second option because of three reasons:
- It is cheaper: A registry cleaner would cost you around $40-$50 where as if you hire an expert he will charge you more than $100. You can use the registry cleaner as many times as you wish at no extra charge.
- It is quicker: From scanning to complete repair, a registry cleaner would take 15 minutes only. A computer expert would take at least one day.
- It is more reliable: Registry cleaners make a backup and clean the registry so that you have an option of restoring in case something goes wrong.
So, you need to use a computer registry, but which one? There are so many registry cleaners available in the market that you would be confused it you were to try to choose one. You need to use one that is safest and has good support.

Steps to take if you want to repair your registry manually
Windows Registry Repair may sound like a very difficult and long procedure, but it doesn’t have to be. You can repair the windows registry yourself if you know how to do it and if you have the proper tools at your disposal.
First of all, let’s identify whether you do really need to repair your Windows registry. If your computer has a slow response and slow computer performance and a slow startup, gives a lot of weird error messages, freezes or crashes, then you may be right in guessing that the problem lies with the Registry. The Windows registry holds a lot of important information that are vital for the survival of your operating system. Therefore, it is advisable to clean and fix registry errors without delaying.
There are certain things that you have to perform before going for a registry repair:
- Create a System Restore point. A restore point is where your computer can revert back its settings to, in case something is messed up and you damage the operating system.
You can do it by navigating to Start->All Programs->Accessories->System tools->System restore-> Create a restore point - Make a backup of your registry. This will ensure that you can revert your registry back to the original settings in case you have to.
You can do this by navigating to Start->Run-> in the box that appears type REGEDIT. Don’t make any changes, just go to File->Export->Name your file, choose a place to save it and click save. - Now you can start a Windows Registry Repair. There are two ways to do it: manually or automatically. You can locate and repair the corrupted files yourself if you know exactly what you are doing. If you are not a techie, then the best option is to use an automatic windows registry cleaner like Registry Booster. A registry cleaner scans your system to locate invalid or missing registry entries and then repairs them.
There are many registry cleaners available; some can do a good job while most of them cannot. Just make sure you choose a registry cleaner that is reputable and safe and fix your pc registry with it and make computer fast.
The most recommended Windows XP registry repair software: Registry Booster
A very reliable and intensive registry cleaner is Registry Booster. In my experience with a lot of registry cleaning programs, I found that Registry Booster is among the few that can really get the job done safely, and the only one that has the option to defrag the registry, which further optimizes and boosts the performance of your computer. So, now you have it: The best registry cleaner, Registry Booster, as a certain winner.

Windows Registry Cleaner for Fixing Windows Problems
By sheruz | November 28, 2009
You may know that I am always on the lookout for quality content on Windows Registry Cleaner, knowing that a registry cleaner is necessary for the correct operation of a Windows operating system. Now, I ran into a really good piece of content that talks about Registry Cleaners from a different angle. Make sure you check out this piece of content and let me know what you think. Today’s piece of content is about Windows Registry and you could find the full article published below for convenience:
In the past, there wasn’t any Windows registry cleaner available to me to keep the registry in good shape. I used to either edit the registry by hand, which was very time-consuming and requires technical knowledge and care, or format and reinstall Windows every few months.
The Windows registry contains important information placed there by Windows and many applications. These information are essential to the proper operation when programs are run. But the problem is that the registry tends to get filled up with invalid or obsolete information over time, resulting in substandard performance and errors cropping up. That is why the registry has to be maintained periodically.
Windows registry cleaner software automate the maintenance of the registry. They search the entire registry, looking for problems and then fix them. But there is one problem that a user faces: which one should he use?
There are so many different cleaner software out there in the market, it’s impossible for most people to test each and every one of them. For one thing, not all of them are equal, and using a badly-written one can harm the registry rather than optimize it. A good one not only fixes errors in the registry, it also optimizes the registry and keeps backups for fail-safe operations. It must also be comprehensive in its search for errors. All sorts of errors can show up, so the registry cleaner must be equipped to deal with a wide variety. Because a registry is often huge in size, it will take some time to scan through its entirety, but still a good cleaner will need to be able to do this as fast as possible.

The registry acts as a central repository for information about the different hardware and software settings in your computer. This central database is so important that without, it is impossible for Windows to run as it should.
Each time you search, access, edit, save or delete a file, certain bits of data are stored in your registry. Windows registry uses these bits of data to determine how to handle or process a certain string of commands. When there are tons of unnecessary or obsolete data in your registry, you will need to run a Windows Registry Tool that can cleanup all the superfluous files.

Many windows registry recovery products can be found online. These utilities discover and sort all of the invalid keys in the registry.
You have to look for certain important features in a windows registry recovery program before buying it. An broken registry is much better than an unstable registry. Major issues can result with your operating system if the wrong registry keys are removed, and you would need to reformat your whole hard drive and reinstall Windows, resulting in a loss of data. To this, a backup of the registry is required.
The windows registry repair program must be capable of performing deep registry level scanning. All the possible problem keys are reported to the computer operator at the end of the scan. Also, the software must provide an option to customize the problems to be fixed. This is because some entries may be reported as problems even though you purposefully installed the corresponding software. You can cherry pick the keys you wish to remove. If you are unsure about any problem, you can tell the software to not touch that entry. The top end registry cleaners have an ‘error report’ function, this means that all errors are automatically sent to the product manufacturer so they can fix or advise you on any unpredicted errors that come up. Another vital specification; the windows registry recovery software should have an update feature. Its important to run scans regularly to keep your system in tip top condition, so having the lasest version available is obviously a good move.

Spyware Removal From Windows Registry
By sheruz | November 27, 2009
You may know that I am always on the watch for quality articles on Windows Registry Cleaner, knowing that a registry cleaner is essential for the correct functioning of a Windows OS. Now, I ran across a very good piece of content that talks about Registry Cleaners from a different point of view. Make sure you read this piece of content and inform me what you think. Today’s piece of content is about Windows Registry and you could find the full article reproduced below for convenience:
Most spyware write data to the windows registry in order to hide themselves and to spy on users’ activities when they use the computer. Be it tracking the web sites that the users visit, or secretly logging the keystrokes (and hence passwords) entered by the users, and then sending such sensitive information to someone else on the internet. When removing the spyware, it is important to start with the Windows registry.
The Window registry is used by modern Windows systems as a system-wide database of information about user settings, software and installed hardware. When the registry malfunctions, the entire Windows system may become unstable and errors may occur. When spyware write their information to the registry, this sometimes introduces errors into the registry.
Windows has a built-in tool which you can use to access, view and edit the registry settings. To access it, click on the “Start” button, then “Run” and finally just enter “regedit” into the box that is presented to you. Press “OK” and the program should load.
The left pane of Registry Editor is used for navigation, while the pane on the right displays values of the keys that you select on the left pane.
When you see a key whose value you want to change, just right click its value and select “Modify”. To delete that key, right click it and choose “Delete”.
Now let’s try to find the spyware keys. Depending on which spyware you’re after, the keys will be different. You can do an internet search for this. For example, let’s say we want to find a key called “h4l2j13ax35″. You can click on a folder on the left pane and choose “Find”. Enter the key “h4l2j13ax35″ to find it, and once it’s found, you can see it on the right pane. Delete it by right-clicking it and choosing “Delete”.
There are usually a few keys to be deleted to remove all the spyware entries. It can be tedious to do so, and it’s advisable to use a spyware removal software to search through the entire registry to remove the entries and then use a registry cleaner software to comprehensively search for any other errors and repair them automatically. Using a registry cleaner software is important because it helps to maintain the stability of your operating system and to remove certain errors happening.
A good registry cleaner will help keep your Windows system in good shape and performing optimally. If you are unsure which registry cleaner to use, you can take a look at these reviews of registry cleaners. You can also read about Windows startup errors.

First and foremost you should know that manually editing the registry is not for the average user.
The windows registry Has hundreds of thousands of entries and changing or deleting the wrong one can cause your PC to stop booting forever, Yes I said STOP BOOTING FOREVER. I tell you this so you can understand just how complex and important the registry is. Manually editing your registry is only for advanced users, Very advanced users, I only do it when I absolutly have to and only when I know exactly what I am doing and why.
Now if you are sufficiently scared we can move on.
This brings me to my own rule for working any problem in windows. The rule of three, is my personal rule. It states that anything you want to do in windows you should have three different pieces of software to achieve. I have found that no matter how good the software or how many promises they make you, no one piece of software can do the job completely. To really get things done in windows requires a multi pronged approached. If I want to clean the adware or spyware off of my system I will use three different programs, Adaware, Spybot S&D, and Spyware blaster. Run them one at a time and then follow their instructions.
Windows and the windows registry are extremely complex and large, keeping them running well and free of errors will allow your system to boot faster and run more reliably. Any error in the registry can cause a number of different problems in windows. Some errors in the registry will cause windows to search for a program or driver it cannot find, and if it does not find it where it thinks it should be, then windows will try to find it in other places. When you think about this you realize why this slows down booting. If you have several errors in your registry then booting can take a really long time, and be very frustrating. This is only one kind of error that can occur in the registry, there are several others but we wont go into that.
Now lets get to the How To bit of this article.
First thing to do is to get yourself at least two and if you are following my Rule Of Three, then three different registry software packages. (At the end of this article you will find three I recommend.)
Now install each one, but do not run any of them until you have all of them installed on your system.
Now run the first piece of software, follow the instructions, if it asks you if you want to make a back up say yes. Some software will want to make a snapshot of the registry if yours does, say yes. Most of the software available is designed to make it easy to restore the registry if something goes wrong, so always say yes to backups and snapshot options. When the software has finished making a back up or snapshot of your registry, tell it to scan for errors. This may take a few minutes or only a few seconds, just wait for it to finish. The software will display a list of errors and a count of the errors it has found on your system. It will then present you with at least two choices, Fix/repair or delete. Choose the fix/repair option, this will have the software try to find solutions to the problems, then the software will return with the results of the fix/repair attempt. Some software will automatically delete the entries it cannot fix, some will ask you what to do about the ones it could not fix. If your software asks you what to do about the unfixed errors, choose to not do anything. Close the software.
Now run the second piece of software and follow its instructions again making any back ups or snapshots and then Scan again, again tell it to fix/repair. When it has finished close the software.
Now run the third piece of software and do the same again. If this time there are still unfixed error you can go ahead and tell the software to delete the errors it cant fix. At this point you can be pretty sure that all the errors that could be fixed have been fixed. Now tell the software to rescan your system, the scan should be faster now and should return no more errors. Close the software.
Now as a final check run the first software again and and see if it finds any errors, it should come back with only one or two or none if it finds any just tell it to delete. And You Are Done.
One last thing, some Registry repair software has an option to do deep cleaning or aggressive search, I do not recommend these options as they may damage the registry, and we are trying to repair the registry.
As promised here are links to three pieces of software I recommend, there are literally thousands available.

Today’s article is about Windows Registry and you could find the entire article printed below for convenience:
Is your computer running slow or does it suddenly freeze for no apparent reason? Perhaps it is time that you cleanup your system with a window registry cleaner. It is typical for a computer to be sluggish when it holds tons and tons of redundant and superfluous information in its registry but it is never fun to have a computer that suddenly crashes, especially when you are in the middle of doing something important.

If you still have not known, Windows Registry refers to the database in your computer that holds information on system settings and options. These include information on hardware settings, operating system software, other installed software, and different user settings. It also provides access to kernel operations, as well as serves as a monitoring system for performance counters and active hardware.
A window registry cleaner is a kind of utility software developed for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It removes redundant and unnecessary data from the Windows registry. When unnecessary configuration data is removed from the registry, a computer system can have significant positive changes in its performance, wherein it can run faster and smoother.
It helps to regularly cleanup your registry to keep your system free of unwanted data that may have been left by different kinds of software that were not completely uninstalled from your computer or by those that are no longer in use. It also helps in clearing information and settings that may have been used in the operation of spyware or malware.
However, experts still argue on the effectiveness of registry cleaners. It is possible for a Window registry cleaner to cause registry damage, malware payloads, and increased scareware attacks. Also, most registry cleaners are unable to fix malware issues and undeletable registry keys. So before you choose a registry cleaner to use, do some comprehensive research.
